As a responsible employer, Sedibelo endeavors to treat all employees with respect and care, reward them fairly for their contributions, empower them to raise concerns, support them in engaging safely in their daily duties, and delivering against our strategy and goals.
We recognize that maintaining a diverse and empowered workforce requires a supportive company culture. To support this, Sedibelo formed the Inclusivity Committee in 2021 as a new Board committee tasked with enhancing our focus on diversity and workplace culture.
SEDIBELO EMPLOYS OVER 600 PEOPLE DIRECTLY. IN ADDITION, OUR CONTRACTORS EMPLOY MORE THAN 1,700 EMPLOYEES. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WORKING ON OUR SITES WILL GROW OVER THE COMING YEARS AS WE EXPAND EAST PIT AND TRANSITION TO UNDERGROUND MINING.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We recognize that mining involves inherent risks and dangers. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that we protect and promote the health and safety of everyone in our operations, and strive to achieve zero harm through conscious commitment, discipline and risk awareness. Sedibelo has comprehensive health, safety and wellness programs in place to help us achieve this.
Sedibelo has a long and proud history of safety management. We carefully record and analyze all injuries at work, including LTIs and medical treatment cases, and have succeeded in maintaining these at very low levels. We work closely with our employees, trade unions, contractors and suppliers to embed safety in all aspects of our operations.
EMPLOYEE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Employee training and development ensures that our employees are provided with training and developmental programs to ensure that they meet the changing needs of the work environment and to grow their skills throughout their career.
